'The Gospel Truth' is the second output from Clarence Clarity and the music takes an interesting turn following on from the raucous intensity of ‘4GODSLUV’. The electronics are still screaming and the beat is still banging, but this time the track comes laced with Clarence’s vocal and a more pop orientated song structure. Following on from the second listen we’ve been having flashbacks to our mid-teens when the four Leicester based kings of Late Of The Pier were championing our stereos and headphones. Have a listen and see what you think. His debut EP is dropping in September on 37 Adventures, entitled ‘SAVE THYSELF’.
'Without' is the first track from Sampha's 'Dual' EP, set for release on Young Turks on July 29th.Aside from collaborations with the likes of Drake, Jessie Ware and Koreless, this is the first solo track we’ve had from the London singer/producer since last year’s ‘Indecision’ and it’s just what we’ve been wanting. Prepare to be moved, you can read more about Sampha himself and the release here and pick up the pre-order here.
If The Underachievers’ 'Indigoism' which dropped back in February had been a vinyl release, we'd have worn through about 5 copies by now. This new track from 'Chapter 23’ is just as big as anything on the previous mixtape, and is getting us excited for what else is going to come from their time on Brainfeeder so far. Watch the video for ‘The Proclamation’ below, produced by Nick Lewis and featuring the strumming guitars of The Rolling Stones ‘Gimme Shelter’. Issa and AK are in London for the very first time next Thursday playing at the Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, get your tickets here.
Arthur Beatrice's forthcoming 'Carter' EP has just got all the more exciting with the release of the second track 'Vandals'. Take a listen, it's the perfect continuation from everything that has come before from this quartet, beautiful pop in a completely original way. The debut EP drops on the 22nd of July, make sure you get it on pre-order.
We’ve been waiting to hear something new from Loyle Carner ever since he first dropped ‘Eleven’, and if you’re in to the British hip hop scene at the moment you’ll also have heard him on Rejjie Snow's recent EP on the track '1992'. If you haven't listened already, you need to right here.
Over the weekend Loyle dropped his own second track which you can listen to below. ‘Sea Shells’ follows in the same vibe as Loyle's previous stuff, with the super mellowed out beat and his effortlessly smooth flow, it's hard not to get swept up in his sound. This is the first look into his debut EP, release coming in August, we cannot wait.
M O N E Y have just shared the second insight into ‘The Shadow of Heaven’, with this beautiful Cillian Murphy-directed video for ‘Hold Me Forever’. This track actually made it into our year-end highlights for 2012 off the back of a couple of live shows alone, so we couldn’t be happier to share with everyone. Make sure you make it to either of their Manchester International Festival shows next weekend, if you can, to catch the first live performances of the album in full.
Following on from the excitement of the morning, looking around Ellery’s soundcloud, we found this.
This is 19, the alias of Parisian Oko Ebombo, with ‘Naked Life’. Oko has been working all over to bring this beautiful piece of art together (mentioning Manchester as one of the places, we can only assume that Oko and Ellery have been working together). Having played this about 20 times in the past three hours, we’re completely hooked. Keep updated here and here.
Remember WU LYF? Of course you do, the boys from Manchester are hard to forget, ‘Go Tell Fire To The Mountain’ was one of the best debut albums to come out of 2011. Such a shame they broke up. Nevermind, Ellery is back.
Introducing to you the brand new project from WU LYF’s former front man, Ellery James Roberts/Kerou, and this first track ‘Kérou’s Lament’. For every heartbroken WU LYF fan out there, this is the remedy. For every broken hearted music lover out there, this is the remedy. This track is so powerful it could cure the horrific state of pop music. Enjoy and download it for free over at his soundcloud.
Update - Watch the video below, and head to his Tumblr here for some more insight into the project.
